Course Description: EMS professionals are familiar with the concept and the experience of stress. Understanding the physiological response to stress is important in understanding how to cope with stress. This course will help EMS professionals to develop a plan for dealing with occupational stressors.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: - Describe the major components involved in the physiological reaction to stress.
- Identify the three types of stress reactions.
- Given a list of reactions, differentiate between constructive and destructive reactions to stress.
- Given a description of reactions to death and dying, differentiate between normal and abnormal reactions.
