Course Description:
This module discusses clinical issues of intrapartum monitoring in a risk management context, providing rules of thumb for dealing with common risk management issues, cases for learners to apply the rules of thumb, and current issues that are becoming major risk management concerns.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this online activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Recognize how the failure to identify nonreassuring FHR patterns and manage them appropriately increases the risk of liability.
  • Identify rules of thumb you can implement every day to reduce your medicolegal risk.
