How can I ensure that my students complete BLS or ACLS Part 1 so that they can access BLS or ACLS Part 2?

To complete BLS or ACLS Part 1, the student must properly exit from the course so that the system records the completion. To do so, the student must:

1. Review the Table of Contents to the left of the page to ensure that there is a green check (indicating completion) for each activity.

2. Click Submit.

3. Return to the course on the My Learning page and complete the course evaluation.

Note: All questions are required. Completing the evaluation completes the course. The student completion for Part 1 will appear on the My Transcript page, where the student can view and/or print the certificate of completion.

4. Use the eight-character code from the Part 1 certificate to access the Part 2 skills course.

How do I claim my credit for HeartCode ACLS?

The method by which a student claims CE credit for ACLS has changed recently. Follow these steps to claim credit and receive the ACLS Part 2 access code.

1. After successfully completing the course content and evaluation, click the link that says, CME/CE Certificate. This link will take the student to the Laerdal CE Web site.

2. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the questions and enter the number of credits being claimed.

3. To get the ACLS Part 2 access code, return to the HealthStream screen and click View Certificate.

4. The code will be displayed on the certificate.
