Recent studies show that the caregiver turnover rate is at an all time high of 82%. To make things more dire, the BLS projected in 2016 (PHI, 2019) projected that approximately 7.8 million direct care positions would open from 2016 to 2026 over the following 10 years, making the total direct care workforce larger than any single occupation by 2026.
