Before HealthStream Quality Manager, Edna Tina Wilson Living Center (ETW)solely used the Department of Health Survey as a guide for areas of focus and performance for quality measure. ETW wanted to further improve the facility’s ability to track and improve performance of quality measures and optimize performance of Department of Health annual surveys.
ETW implemented abaqis because of its correlation with the established Department of Health Survey processes, and they also determined it was the best program for their facility based on audits and tools available within the application.
Since using HealthStream Quality Manager, ETW has improved survey results and quality measure ratings. ETW credits the successful implementation of the engagement to the ease of use within the HealthStream Quality Manager application and the superior customer service. Facility and organizational leadership had early buy-in for the value of the HealthStream Quality Manager tools because of how quickly survey results improved. Early, pre-emptive identification of issues also led to successful corrective action.
Perspective residents, families, and staff often judge facilities based on star ratings largely derived from Department of Health annual survey results, and with the use of HealthStream Quality Manager tools, ETW has changed the presented data with improved survey results. The quality measure star rating increased from 2-star to 4-star after implementing HealthStream Quality Manager.
When re-surveyed 17 months later, ETW received just 2 low level deficiencies (down from 11).
